Review: Incarnate by Jodi Meadows

Synopsis:

New soul

Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why.

No soul

Even Ana's own mother thinks she's a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she'll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame?

Heart

Sam believes Ana's new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana's enemies--human and creature alike--let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else's life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all?

My Thoughts:

This will be a hard review to write so I’m going to try my best. First of all, I wasn’t sure how I was going to rate this book, in the end I decided to give it 3 Stars.

In the beginning this book was so good but after page 100 the story still didn’t move forward ,,, I mean nothing major happen which if I have to say the book start to sound boring but then something good happen and the book start to feel fantastic then it go back to the slow moving and so on.

This book is about Ana, a girl who was born for the first time in a place where people incarnate for 5000 year but the problem was that when she was born someone lost his chance to be born someone everyone was friend with. Anyway, some people didn’t like Ana such as her own mother, who think that Ana has no soul while some other people call her a new soul.

Then we have Sam, who think that Ana is innocent and has nothing to do with the new souls thing. When Sam and Ana get to know each other Sam offer to help Ana so they travel together and start learning about each other and grow to care about each other. While everyone seems to believe that her life is worthless and that because they think that she may not be able to reborn like everyone Sam always tells her to live her life to the full and enjoy it. I didn’t like the ending much because there were no real turning of the event thing if you know what I mean. It was not exacting at all.

Finally I would like to say, that this is not a negative review because I did enjoy some parts of this book and I think that with a little change in some of the events and make thing more lively with more adventure this book will be so AWESOME.

From: Akagami no Shirayuki Hime - MyAnimeList

My Thought:

This Manga is about a girl named Shirayuki, who is due to her rare hair color, gets a proposal to be a concubine of the foolish prince Raji and because she cannot decline the proposal Shirayuki decided to run away to the neighboring country.

While traveling, she meets a boy named Zen [19-year-old prince], who accidentally get injured, and she boldly cures his wounds. Zen wasn’t alone at the time, he was with two aides miss Kiki and Mitsuhide. Anyway, Zen and Shirayuki become friends, and she finds out that Zen is actually a second prince of the country she is running to after Zen saves her from being taken by Raji.

After that she go with him to his palace, where she applies for the job of Palace Pharmacist, to be able to go freely to the castle where Zen is. Moreover, Zen and Shirayuki start to fell in love with each other although Shirayuki is not aware of her own feeling.

In Zen country Shirayuki start to know more about Zen and the people surrounding him, for example Mitsuhide Rouen 23 years old, he is one of Zen’s close aides who was introduced to Zen when Mitsuhide was 17 by Zen’s brother, The first prince Izana. Mitsuhide is one with an outgoing and honest personality. He shares a close relationship with Zen and can often be seen having a friendly teasing with each other.

Also there is Obi who works for Zen. Obi, is a strange [but light hearted mostly] and unusual character in the story. His first appearance is when he tries to frighten shirayuki by shooting an arrow to the wall next to her. He tends to hide his face under a mask, which makes many people think of him as a bad guy. Later Obi starts showing to have feelings for Shirayuki, for she is the only person that understands him. Out of all the characters in the manga, he is the only character with unknown motives for following Zen so far which makes him a rather mysterious character.

Overall, I like this manga so very much … it is so AWESOME. The thing I love the most is how the relationship developed between the characters and the ROMANCE in the book just FANTASTIC :D

Review: Touch by Jus Accardo

Synopsis:

When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.

Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.

Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.

My Thoughts:

WOW … this is one AMAZING book … I LOVED IT SO MUCH  :)

The book is about Sixes … who are sixes? They are people with special powers such as killing with a touch, controlling the fire, seeing the future and changing to any different object etc. these people are hunted by Denazen an organization that collect Sixes and use them as weapons.

Dez is our heroine a very interesting character … she is wild, like to challenge and confident … she never whined or cries for no real reason and she is strong girl who will go to anywhere or do anything to help Kale and the people she care for. Also, she is a girl who does all crazy things just to annoy her father who works for Denazen.

Kale is our hero … he have a very strong and dangers ability … his touch is death … and he is the only person who run away from Denazen lately …and then he meets Dez. I like Kale he may be very dangers but in some other ways he is cute and innocent.

I hated one character in this book … and if you read the book already I guess you know who I am talking about. Dez’s father is a jerk … what the hell is wrong with him … I never read about someone who doesn’t have a feeling for his own child … he hunt the people Dez care about and uses them … also, he lied to her and whenever she needs him the most he is the last person who will ever give her a helping hand.

Overall, I enjoyed every minutes reading Touch ... This book is full of suspense and adventure …  and the plot is fantastic :D
